He's never been so happy to have a flood pass him by. He doesn't know what would happen if someone else had taken his place and taken him away from Eric.
He still insists on sleeping together, on keeping Eric with him close by, even if he can feel him, and ensures that they both have plenty to eat. Godric keeps bottles of real blood in the fridge, but it's magical, from Archer, and slightly more potent than what the Admiral keeps, which he retrieves for them when Eric needs or asks for it. It feels good to take care of him again, though. Having him here, in the cabin or taking him along to the library for his shifts, makes it feel...normal.
Even Freyja, the black kitten Godric's adopted, has come to accept Eric in her home and will occasionally wander over and sit by his side if he allows it.
One evening, just as midnight passes them by, Godric sets down the book he's reading.
"Would you like to come on a walk to see the Enclosure?"
Once he'd realized he had one, Eric learned of the situation that had swept the barge. People coming in, family of sort or close ties to citizens of the barge and he wonders, being so new, how badly he would react to someone they knew coming in place of Godric. And he's relieved that they don't have to find out.
Sleeping is easier now, but there is a lurking uneasiness of the time coming where he should return Godric's privacy to him. That isn't to say that he thinks right then, or even for the next little while, that either of them could stand to be apart from each other much longer than they absolutely had to, but there were people here that needed his maker, too. And as much as that makes him the tiniest bit jealous, he keeps telling himself that he has something with Godric that none of them have.
He's staring at the cat when the question pulls his attention to his maker. "Of course, I would," Eric replies softly. "I have no idea what that is but a walk with you I can't refuse."
He's coming over to get coffee, not really expecting to see Eric in Godric's cabin. He figures Godric will still be asleep so he lets himself in silently and goes to the kitchen to fill his mug.
Eric's having an easier time sleeping now that he's back at Godric's, though he still manages to be up before him. When Jesus arrives, he is just stepping out of his maker's room, bare chested though only temporarily so since he left his comfortable cotton t'shirt beside the bed for the next night.
"Jesus," Eric greets, slipping one arm through the black button up shirt he planned to wear for the evening, then the other and leaves it unbuttoned for the time being. "He's still asleep."
And off he goes into the kitchen to get something to drink.
[ fuck the text reply, sweeney gets a voice message.

I'd take your warning more seriously if it wasn't in a text bubble.
You know if I wanted to hurt her, I would have already? Or, I could have left her in the Otherworld to rot as monster bait instead of going in and finding her. Where were you?
There's no question whether he does, but the way he answers is low predatory growl, bearing his teeth and biting down until he can taste of Godric's blood on his own tongue. At the same time, he makes quick work of yanking whatever clothes off that are in the way of them being bare to each other. He needs to feel it, touch it and feed off it.
He wraps an arm around him, letting him have the control that Godric has never been able to afford him. He digs fingers into his back so hard that they'd bruise a lesser creature.
The taste of his own blood draws out a moan from the back of his throat and he raises up to meet him in a kiss.
The clothes come off easily, revealing nothing but the ink underneath. Godric has seen him bare before, plenty of times, but this is the first time in a thousand years that Godric has allowed himself to look on Eric in lust.
He wraps one leg around his waist, holding him close.
I cannot imagine the loss that you suffer with the weight of my disappearance from the Barge. The emptiness that I have for you now is almost overwhelming. There is no comfort for me in the daylight, no presence of safety in my bed. It seems a cruelty that I should be torn away from you when we have finally found our happiness.
But this is not an absence. I waited a hundred years to see you again after we parted ways. I will wait a hundred more, here in this house. The view by the ocean is one that I will share with you. We are forever bound and you are forever loved.
I am sorry that I cannot see you again. I am sorry that I cannot hold your hand and kiss your pain away.

Why'd you make that joke? Of all the jokes, why that one, that you'd probably seduce me?
Is it a weird vampire sex thing? Is it a weird you thing? Or something else?

It wasn't a joke, Rosita. I was being very serious.

Letter Written to Eric and delivered by Iris
But I am and always will be yours,
Godric
